Softball Recap: Hellgate Comes Up Short

Hellgate scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Butte Bulldogs, falling 20-9. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Piper Wells made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those RBI marked the first that she brought in this season. Kaylie Moe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Hellgate's loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Butte, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Hellgate is set to square off against their familiar foe Flathead at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Butte will take on rival Sentinel at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
