Baseball Recap: Leroy Greene Academy's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Leroy Greene Academy took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Rio Vista, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lions beat the Rams on Thursday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 9-8. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on three straight.

Juan Salazar was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Leroy Greene Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-9 otherwise. Syrus Gray was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Leroy Greene Academy pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Vista, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Leroy Greene Academy will look to defend their home field on Monday against Delta at 4:00 p.m. The Saints will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rio Vista, they will face off against Mesa Verde at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Mavericks have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
