Softball Recap: Montgomery Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Montgomery dropped their record down to 13-3 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins at home. They fell 11-6 to the Wyalusing Valley Rams. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Red Raiders, who until this match were averaging 4.06 runs allowed.

Madisyn Miller was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Jenna Houseknect was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Wyalusing Valley, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games.

On Wyalusing Valley's side, Rachel Wilson was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most hits Wilson has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Josie Ferris, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Montgomery wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 19-15 win against Canton on the 16th. As for Wyalusing Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 4-2 victory against North Penn-Liberty on the 16th.
