Basketball Recap: Legacy Academy Comes Up Short

Legacy Academy lost against Christian Ministries Academy back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Legacy Academy Warriors took a 62-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors.

Despite the loss, Legacy Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Manolo Vazquez dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 boards. Jude Gallagher was another key player, putting up eight points and ten rebounds.

Christian Ministries Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Hicks, who almost dropped a triple-double on 17 points, 12 boards, and nine assists. Hicks is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 24 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Nolan Bradshaw, who went 8 for 14 en route to 19 points along with seven steals and five rebounds.

Legacy Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-20. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Legacy Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 74-71 loss against Stephens on the 8th. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-63 defeat against Gospel Light Christian on the 8th.
