Basketball Recap: BELIEVE Circle City Comes Up Short

BELIEVE Circle City entered their match against Herron on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The BELIEVE Circle City Cyclones were beaten by the Herron Achaeans 47-20. The Cyclones were not able to make up for their defeat to the Achaeans from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why BELIEVE Circle City lost, don't look at Jazmyn Brown. Despite the final result, she posted 13 points. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cordarionna Kirkwood, who had four points and three steals.

Herron got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jasmine Johnson out in front who went 6 for 11 on her way to 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Those six steals gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Cotham, who earned 12 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards.

BELIEVE Circle City's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-2. As for Herron, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

BELIEVE Circle City has already played their next contest (against Indianapolis Metropolitan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Herron will head out to face off against Christel House at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Herron is facing Christel House at the right time seeing as Christel House is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
