Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial fell victim to Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Cobras, falling 8-0. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cobras apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

Armani Estevez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Centennial and nudges their season record down to 4-10-1. As for Central, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Central will challenge Conifer at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cobras' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. Centennial will be paying especially close attention to Central's game: after Central faces off against Sebastian River, they'll take on Centennial again at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
