Baseball Recap: Trabuco Hills Makes It Eight in a Row on the Road

Trabuco Hills won against Aliso Niguel last Friday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Mustangs' pitcher stepped up to hand the Dana Hills Dolphins a 5-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Not much got past Mike DeFrancesca, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Dana Hills off the board. DeFrancesca has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Trabuco Hills' win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Van De Kreeke, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Trabuco Hills pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Dana Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Trabuco Hills beat the Dolphins by a score of 8-5 on Wednesday.
