Recap: San Pasqual Golden Eagles vs. Point Loma Pointers
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The San Pasqual Golden Eagles, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 43-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Point Loma on Friday. San Pasqual's loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Despite the defeat, San Pasqual saw an underclassman step up: Robert Renteria threw for 306 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt.
It was another big night for Brady Allen, who rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also threw for 83 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Canon Ogden was another key contributor, picking up 50 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
San Pasqual's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Point Loma, their win was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 7-4.
San Pasqual does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Point Loma will head out on the road to face off against Scripps Ranch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Scripps Ranch is ranked 226th, while Point Loma is ranked 218th).
