Basketball Recap: Fort Collins Lambkins vs. Poudre Impalas
Fort Collins lost against Poudre back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Fort Collins Lambkins lost to the Poudre Impalas at home by a 50-35 margin. The Lambkins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Lambkins players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Spiro Palmer, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Burkett, who posted 12 points.
Poudre got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Foster out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. Foster has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 24 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Cornell-Nosaka, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points.
Fort Collins' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Poudre, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-9.
Fort Collins will venture away from home to take on Rocky Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poudre, they will square off against Greeley West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
