Basketball Recap: Syracuse Academy of Science Takes a Loss

On Saturday, the Syracuse Academy of Science Atoms came up short against the University Prep Charter Gator and fell 57-50. While losing is never fun, the Atoms can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Gator are ranked 112th).

Syracuse Academy of Science has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for University Prep Charter, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

Syracuse Academy of Science has already played their next contest (against University Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. University Prep Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 79-65 win against Victor on the 27th.
