Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Ararat Eagles vs. Edward Little Red Eddies

Mt. Ararat is 2-8 against Edward Little since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mt. Ararat Eagles will square off against the Edward Little Red Eddies at 2:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Mt. Ararat sitting on five straight wins and Edward Little on six.

Mt. Ararat is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Maine's top teams: Gray-New Gloucester, who was ranked tenth at the time (Mt. Ararat was ranked sixth). Mt. Ararat came out on top against Gray-New Gloucester by a score of 49-38 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Edward Little didn't have too much trouble with Westbrook on Friday as they won 48-34.

Mt. Ararat is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Edward Little, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Mt. Ararat strolled past Edward Little when the teams last played back in March of 2021 by a score of 52-33. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Ararat since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
