Basketball Recap: Longmont Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Longmont had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the Dakota Ridge Eagles by a score of 54-41 on Monday. The Trojans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Longmont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luna Ready, who went 6-for-7 to rack up 14 points and five steals. Those 14 points gave Ready a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Moreno, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 12 points and five steals.

Looking ahead, Longmont will square off against Peak to Peak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dakota Ridge, they will challenge Sierra at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
