Broomfield's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Monarch as Broomfield made off with an 11-0 win. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by eight runs or more this season.

Ireland Heer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Lauren Martinez and Avery Gines did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Gines scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Lilly Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Broomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now hit at least eight hits in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Horizon's offense. They lost 10-0 to Niwot on Thursday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Broomfield pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Horizon, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Horizon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Broomfield has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 13.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Horizon, though, as they've been averaging 10.3. Given Broomfield's sizable advantage in that area, Horizon will need to find a way to close that gap.

Broomfield might still be hurting after the 15-3 loss they got from Horizon in their previous matchup back in October of 2023. Can Broomfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
