Soccer Recap: John Marshall Comes Up Short

John Marshall fell victim to Morgantown and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mohigans, falling 10-0. While losing is never fun, John Marshall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 51st, while Morgantown are ranked ninth).

This is the second loss in a row for John Marshall and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for Morgantown, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-2-3 record this season.

John Marshall wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Catholic Central on the 1st. As for Morgantown, they will face off against Brooke at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Morgantown will be up against Brooke's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.8 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
