Softball Game Preview: Clay Eagles vs. Springfield Blue Devils

The Clay Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Springfield Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

Clay is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Ida just ended the team's eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Bluestreaks by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Springfield sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over Napoleon on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Blue Devils.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Springfield, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Clay was able to grind out a solid win over Springfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, winning 9-5. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
