Fairmont had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Windom Eagles. Five seems to be a good number for the Cardinals as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Fairmont pushed their record up to 9-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Windom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.
