Softball Game Recap: Johnson City Wildcats vs. Maine-Endwell Spartans

Johnson City's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Maine-Endwell Spartans a 3-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Wildcats: when they faced off against the Spartans back in April, they had to take a 12-6 loss.

The result came thanks to Julianna Berru-Brown's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Annabel Burke, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Moses, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Johnson City's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Maine-Endwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-5.

Johnson City does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Maine-Endwell, they will take on Union-Endicott at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
