Softball Recap: Sharon Finds Playoff Glory Versus South Park

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Sharon walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the South Park Eagles 2-1. The Tigers are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 18 straight.

Madelyn Vogan made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Sharon pushed their record up to 22-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for South Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-4.

Looking ahead, Sharon will challenge Susquenita on Thursday. The Blackhawks will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. South Park does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
