Softball Game Preview: Churubusco Eagles vs. Woodlan Warriors

The Churubusco Eagles are taking a road trip to square off against the Woodlan Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Churubusco took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Fremont get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Woodlan ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Leo 6-5.

Churubusco's record now sits at 11-6. As for Woodlan, their record is now 17-2.

Churubusco suffered a grim 11-2 defeat to Woodlan when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
