Basketball Recap: Lely Sets Scoring Season-High Against Palmetto Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lely). They put the hurt on the Palmetto Ridge Bears with a sharp 78-55 victory on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Defeat or not, Palmetto Ridge got some senior leadership from Juju Castillo and Jeriah Muldrow. Castillo dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Muldrow posted 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven boards gave Muldrow a new career-high. Isaac Garcia was another key player, putting up four points.

Lely's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Palmetto Ridge, their loss ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lely will take on Golden Gate at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lely has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 214 points over their last three matches. As for Palmetto Ridge, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Naples at 7:00 p.m. Palmetto Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.3 points per game this season.
