Softball Recap: Billingsley Has No Trouble Against Jemison

After losing to Jemison the last time they met, Billingsley decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Billingsley Bears were the clear victor by a 16-4 margin over the Jemison Panthers on Monday.

Kaliyah McCary tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Addyson Raines was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Harmony Arnold, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 4-for-5.

Billingsley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The win got Billingsley back to even at 1-1. As for Jemison, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Billingsley will welcome Marbury at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jemison has already played their next matchup (against Thorsby), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
