Basketball Preview: Northbrook Raiders vs. Spring Woods Tigers

Northbrook has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Spring Woods Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-42, which was the final score in Northbrook's tilt against the Falcons on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Northbrook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1357th, while the Falcons are ranked 558th).

Meanwhile, Spring Woods' recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cypress Creek, falling 71-44.

Despite the loss, Spring Woods had strong showings from Trae Pickens, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds, and Jaelin Bargas, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pickens has scored all season.

Northbrook's loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-25. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.4 points per game. As for Spring Woods, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-21 record this season.

Northbrook might still be hurting after the 57-36 defeat they got from the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January. Can Northbrook avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
