Basketball Recap: Ash Fork Falls Despite Big Games from Jeffrey Trovillion and Miclo Ayala

Ash Fork lost against Mogollon back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ash Fork Spartans lost 59-35 to the Mogollon Mustangs. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ash Fork's loss came despite strong showings from Miclo Ayala and Jeffrey Trovillion. Ayala posted ten points along with five boards and three steals, while Trovillion earned 11 points. Those ten points gave Ayala a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Ash Fork smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Ash Fork's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mogollon, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ash Fork and Fredonia will compete for holiday cheer at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mogollon, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mayer at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
