Softball Recap: Quakertown's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Quakertown had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Wissahickon Trojans with a sharp 11-1 victory on Thursday. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Ava Zebert spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, Quakertown got a massive performance out of Gianna Santangelo, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was Santangelo's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colleen Gallagher, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Quakertown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

Quakertown's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Wissahickon, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Quakertown will host Conestoga at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wissahickon, they will welcome Hatboro-Horsham at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
