Softball Recap: East Rockingham Takes a Loss

East Rockingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 12-1 to the Turner Ashby Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-3 back in April.

East Rockingham's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Turner Ashby, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Rockingham will face off against Harrisonburg at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Streaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Turner Ashby, they will square off against Rockbridge County at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games the Wildcats have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
