Basketball Recap: Valley Christian Skates Past Thatcher with Ease

Valley Christian entered their tilt with Thatcher on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Thatcher Eagles 94-41. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Valley Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kyle Grier, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 boards. What's more, Grier also racked up five assists, the most he's had since back in January of 2024. Carson Grier was another key player, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Thatcher still got an impressive performance from Isaac Palmer, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 14 points and six boards.

Valley Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Thatcher, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Valley Christian has already played their next match, an 85-57 victory against Snowflake on the 18th. As for Thatcher, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-21 win against Andrada Polytechnic on the 21st.
