Football Recap: Thayer Piles Up the Points Against Houston

It was a proper cat-fight when Thayer duked it out with Houston on Friday. The Bobcats blew past the Tigers 55-12. That looming 55-12 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bobcats yet this season.

Thayer was led to victory by Thomas Poole and Dawson Harris. Poole rushed for 143 yards and two scores on only six carries, while Harris rushed for 81 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Thayer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 422 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Houston only rushed for 83.

Although Houston took the loss, they still got scores from Dj Riley and Caden Guerra.

The victory keeps Thayer at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 44.2 points this season. As for Houston, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.
