Keven Hernandez Goes Supernova in Burbank Victory

Starting off the list is Burbank's Keven Hernandez, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Hernandez threw for 392 yards and five touchdowns while completing 87% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards.

Hernandez must have Brackenridge's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Hernandez rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes the last time he and the Eagles duked it out back in September of 2023.

Zapata Posts Huge Game in 56-6 Win

Israel Zapata put up the most rushing yards he's had since back in October of 2023 on Friday. He picked up 238 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He really caught the secondary sleeping when he pulled down a catch that went for 70 yards.

Zapata must have Brackenridge's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Zapata saw the Eagles), he picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

A Season-Best Performance from Damann Goode Leads Sam Houston over Jefferson

On Thursday, Sam Houston had to settle for second even though Damann Goode put up the best numbers he has all season. Goode picked up 224 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He showed off some serious burst, lighting up the secondary with a catch for 63 yards.

Sam Houston now has a losing record at 4-5. Goode and Sam Houston will venture away from home to take on Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Jermaine Tibbs Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles

Sadly, Jermaine Tibbs posting his best game of the season wasn't enough to lead Sam Houston over Jefferson on Thursday. Tibbs wasn't messing around, making 19 total tackles (3.0 for loss). The matchup was his eighth straight with six or more total tackles.

This year, Tibbs has averaged 9.8 total tackles per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging three total tackles per game.
