Baseball Recap: Clyde-Savannah Golden Eagles vs. Sodus Spartans
Clyde-Savannah extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping them down to 3-4. They came up short against the Sodus Spartans, falling 10-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 back in March.
As for Sodus, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.
For Sodus' part, Carter Salerno made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Salerno posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Evan Laird was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cooper Ingersoll, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Meanwhile, Sodus is set to take on their familiar foe East Rochester at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 2.6, the Bombers 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
