            Cordova hasn't had much luck against McClatchy recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. Cordova is taking a road trip to  square off against McClatchy  at 4:00  p.m. One thing working in Cordova's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  in their last three matchups.
Last Friday, Cordova got the win against Kennedy  by a conclusive  13-3. Considering the Lancers have won four contests by more than seven  runs this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Cordova let  Levi Nyberg and  Gabriel Bargas run wild. Nyberg  scored two  runs and  stole six bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances, while  Bargas  scored three  runs and  stole four bases while going 2-for-2. Those  four  stolen bases gave  Bargas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Daniel Swick, who  scored two  runs and  stole three bases.
Meanwhile, while it was McClatchy who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was West Park who put up more. McClatchy fell just short of West Park by a score of  6-5. The loss was the Lions' first of the season.
 McClatchy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Finn Ferris, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.  Antonio Barber was another,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in two of his five plate appearances.
 Cordova has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4-1 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time  this season, McClatchy  fell to 8-1.
 Cordova might still be hurting after the  8-0 loss they got from McClatchy  in their previous meeting  two weeks ago. Can Cordova avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
