Football Game Preview: Pasco Pirates vs. Freedom Patriots + How To Watch

The Pasco Pirates will challenge the Freedom Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Pasco is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Cypress Creek on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Pirates were beaten by the Coyotes 52-17. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-7.

Pasco's defeat came about despite a quality game from Gio Reyes, who rushed for 110 yards on only eight carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards. Reyes really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed 11 in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sage Stinyard, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Even if they lost, Pasco's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In that department, Matthew Cloversettle was the leader with two.

Meanwhile, Freedom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against Fort Meade, falling 48-21. The Patriots were down 28-3 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Pasco's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Freedom, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
