Baseball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is the Bay School's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

After only one run in their last matchup, The Bay School made sure to put some runs up on the board against Drew on Tuesday. The Breakers blew past the Dragons 17-5. The Breakers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Nate Won and Jasper Cook made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Won tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Meanwhile, Cook tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. At bat, Won got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs, while Cook went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. That's the most runs Cook has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Ari Samson and Terje Steele did most of the damage at the plate: Samson got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two RBI, while Steele got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Winston Franklin, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

The Bay School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .610. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Drew only posted an OBP of .333.

The Bay School has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Drew, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: The Bay School beat the Dragons by a score of 10-0 on Friday.
