Softball Recap: Atlantic Sharks vs. Seabreeze Sandcrabs

With a playoff game on the line, Atlantic rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Seabreeze Sandcrabs 12-2. Considering Atlantic has won seven games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Aurielle Reavis made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Reavis was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, Lillian Killian was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and a run.

On Seabreeze's side, Victoria Kenyon-Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all two of her plate appearances with three stolen bases.

The victory (which was Atlantic's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-9. As for Seabreeze, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

Atlantic will challenge Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Atlantic knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Menendez likes a good challenge. Seabreeze does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
