Baseball Game Preview: Durham Trojans vs. Fort Bragg Timberwolves

The Durham Trojans will square off against the Fort Bragg Timberwolves at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Durham beats Fort Bragg with five runs on Saturday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Durham beat Gridley on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trojans.

Joden Hoglund tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Landon Lynch was excellent, going 1-for-5 with one home run. Ely Martinez was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Fort Bragg hadn't beaten Colusa on the road since March 16, 2019 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. Fort Bragg blew past Colusa 15-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Timberwolves have posted against the RedHawks since March 16, 2019.

Fort Bragg's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Durham, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.
