Volleyball Game Preview: McFarland Cougars vs. Shafter Generals

The McFarland Cougars will face off against the Shafter Generals at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: McFarland has struggled recently with 15 defeats in a row, while Shafter will arrive with 23 straight victories.

McFarland lost 3-0 to Chavez on Tuesday.

The losing side was boosted by Sophie Cruz, who had five digs and three aces.

Meanwhile, Shafter made easy work of Taft on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Shafter never let Taft on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-11.

McFarland's loss dropped their record down to 3-25-1. As for Shafter, their victory bumped their record up to 27-1.
