Baseball Recap: South Dade's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Wednesday just wasn't the day for South Dade's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Buccaneers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

South Dade got a good showing from Emmanuel Mercedes, who struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mercedes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, South Dade saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kevin Cappacetti, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.
