Moorpark hasn't had much luck against Camarillo recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Musketeers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Scorpions at 3:30 p.m. The last four games Moorpark has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Moorpark's win against El Segundo wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Musketeers skirted past the Eagles 7-5.
Viviana Ramirez looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
At the plate, Nathalie Hernandez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Rylie Cregut was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Camarillo entered their tilt with Royal on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Highlanders. Considering the Scorpions have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Khloie Hartman, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-5. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alexa Gomez, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Moorpark's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Camarillo, their victory bumped their record up to 16-3.
Moorpark skirted past Camarillo 4-2 in their previous matchup on April 2nd. Do the Musketeers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scorpions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
