Volleyball Recap: Academy of the Sacred Heart Comes Up Short

Academy of the Sacred Heart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oakland Christian Lancers. If the Gazelles were looking for revenge after losing 1-0 to the Lancers when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Academy of the Sacred Heart's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Oakland Christian, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy of the Sacred Heart will square off against Austin Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Gazelles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Oakland Christian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy at 6:30 p.m. on September 4. This will also be the Lancers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
