Basketball Recap: East Lawrence Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but East Lawrence unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They were beaten by the Good Hope Raiders 62-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Raiders are ranked sixth).

East Lawrence's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Good Hope, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Lawrence won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cold Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Good Hope, they will venture away from home to challenge Decatur Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
