Football Game Preview: Key West Conchs vs. University Christian Christians

Two dominant backs in Walson Morin and Donovan Moss are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Key West Conchs will be playing at home against the University Christian Christians at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Key West is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Jackson 54-6 on Friday. The Conchs have beaten the Generals the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Generals has come to flipping the script.

Jeff Dejean had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 93 yards and three TDs on only five carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Leandro Batista was another key rusher, rushing for 55 yards and one score.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for University Christian against Providence School on Friday as the team secured a 34-7 win. Considering the Christians have won five contests by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Key West better keep an eye on Jon Asbey. He was instrumental in University Christian's win, rushing for 117 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

University Christian's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Key West, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-3.

Key West suffered a grim 41-17 defeat to University Christian when the teams last played back in September of 2023. Thankfully for the Conchs, Dwayne Stuckey (who rushed for 53 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, and also threw for 118 yards on five of 14 attempts) won't be suiting up this time.
