Baseball Game Preview: Americas Trail Blazers vs. Horizon Scorpions

The Americas Trail Blazers will head out to face off against the Horizon Scorpions at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Americas' favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matches.

Americas is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Bel Air on Friday as they made off with a 15-4 win. That's two games straight that the Trail Blazers have won by exactly 11 runs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Horizon, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over El Dorado on Friday.

The team relied heavily on Franklin Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Horizon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive games.

Horizon has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Americas, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Americas skirted past Horizon 2-0 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trail Blazers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
