Oak Ridge had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 10-14 to make it four. They fell 8-3 to the Granite Bay Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-4 on Wednesday.
Oak Ridge got a good showing from Ben Ransi, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits Ransi has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Jasen Womack was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Oak Ridge is 2-1 when Womack posts two or more runs, but 8-13 otherwise.
As for Granite Bay, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 runs in those games.
On Granite Bay's side, Cole Griffin tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Griffin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jace Bystrowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Brenden Pops, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.
Oak Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Rocklin on the 28th. As for Granite Bay, they have also already played their next matchup, a 9-2 loss against Jesuit on the 28th.
