Baseball Recap: Shorecrest Takes a Loss

Meadowdale hit Shorecrest with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Scots fell 5-2 to the Mavericks. The Scots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Shorecrest saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Quinn Burnham, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Burnham is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last seven games he's played.

Shorecrest's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Meadowdale, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-12.

While Shorecrest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
