Softball Recap: Marietta Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Marietta had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the St. Clairsville Red Devils. This was payback for the Tigers, who suffered a 15-5 loss the last time these two teams met.

Julia Malone spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophie Morris, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. Kyleigh Constable was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marietta beat St. Clairsville by a score of 11-3 later that day.
