Football Recap: West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Comes Up Short

The home team had come away the winner the last four times West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] and Calhoun/Brussels had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars took a blow against the Warriors on Friday, falling 49-8. The Cougars were not able to make up for their defeat to the Warriors from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ryker Ford threw for 84 yards on five of 12 attempts. Luke Kunz was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Tucker Arnold rushed for 52 yards.

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Calhoun/Brussels, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] will welcome Pleasant Hill/Western at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Wolves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 44.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Calhoun/Brussels, they will host Greenfield/Northwestern at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 3.2, the Tigers 10.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
