AAAA Region IV recap Sept. 26, 2012
Spring Valley extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region IV this week by beating South Aiken, 35-21. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Blythewood was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in the league. The Bengals beat Sumter 37-22 earlier in the week.
Richland Northeast's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. A. C. Whaley threw for 213 and two touchdowns and Shamar Foulks had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Whaley chipped in 31 yards. B.J. Dickerson helped Richland Northeast's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Richland Northeast's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cavaliers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Whaley has thrown for 1194 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Craishaud Foulks has 29 catches for 487 yards. Jaquari Blunt leads the league in rushing with 132 yards.
Ridge View took down Westwood 32-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
