Preview: Northampton County Jaguars vs. Hobbton Wildcats
Northampton County has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against The Hobbton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northampton County will be strutting in after a victory while Hobbton will be coming in after a defeat.
Northampton County can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. Everything went their way against Weldon as Northampton County made off with a 20-0 victory.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northampton County to victory, but perhaps none more so than De'Marjay Lassiter, who gained 70 total yards and a touchdown. Northampton County also got a significant boost from Ji'Youn Williams, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 94 yards.
Meanwhile, Hobbton pushed their score all the way to 35 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against North Duplin, falling 63-35. Hobbton was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-14.
Hobbton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Daniel Aguilar, who rushed for 155 yards and two touchdowns, and Ashawd Wynn who picked up 267 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wynn hasn't dropped below 100 receiving yards for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Weeks, who threw for 320 yards and a touchdown while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt.
Northampton County's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Hobbton, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
