Softball Recap: Era Takes a Loss

Era was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Callisburg Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hornets of the 6-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Pressly Martindale and Tristan Boyd did some serious damage despite the final result: Martindale scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-4, while Boyd scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances. Briar Hollis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Era's loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Era will square off against Valley View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Callisburg, they will take on Anna in a tournament on Thursday.
