Soccer Game Preview: Braswell vs. Coppell

The Braswell Bengals will venture away from home to face off against the Coppell Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braswell's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for 15 straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Braswell fell victim to Flower Mound and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Jaguars. While losing is never fun, the Bengals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 418th, while the Jaguars are ranked fifth).

Meanwhile, Coppell kept a clean sheet against Lewisville on Friday. Everything went their way against the Farmers as they made off with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Cowboys have won ten matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Lewisville with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Neerali Kapadia, Rachel Mathew, Adwitha Challa, and Reagan Roberson.

The win made it two in a row for Coppell and bumps their season record up to 14-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those two contests. As for Braswell, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-15.

Braswell might still be hurting after the 10-0 loss they got from Coppell when the teams last played back in February. Can Braswell avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
