Baseball Game Preview: Aubrey Rogers Patriots vs. Estero Wildcats

The Aubrey Rogers Patriots will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Estero Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Aubrey Rogers is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Lehigh. Aubrey Rogers' pitcher stepped up to hand Lehigh an 18-0 shutout on Monday.

Brandon Leiva looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Aubrey Rogers got a massive performance out of Julian Navedo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. EJ Byrnes was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Estero hadn't done well against Gulf Coast recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Estero narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gulf Coast 3-2.

Rylan Stewart looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Estero's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Marcus Whysong-Garner, who went a perfect1-for-1 with two RBI.
